About Our Church

church Lydney Baptist Church is situated on the edge of the beautiful forest of dean, and has been in Lydney for 170 years. We have quite a small congregation, but you can always be sure of a warm welcome on entering the church.

We are a small friendly community church offering a safe loving environment in which you can learn and grow in God’s love as you travel along life’s journey. We meet together every Sunday at 11.00am and although we do not have a minister, the church is well supported by lay pastors, and students from both Bristol and the South Wales Baptist colleges. Our very successful women’s fellowship meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday afternoons of each month, plus the men’s fellowship meetings, which take place on the first Friday evening of the winter months (all of these meetings are inter-denominational).

We are active members of churches together in Lydney and as part of this initiative we regularly run Alpha courses. This year we intend to expand our links into the community by offering Saturday shoppers snacks and lunches.

Together with our sister church in Blakeney we also plan to run a teen outreach program called ‘The MEET’ and a teen life issues group called STUFF.

We would love to welcome you at one of our Sunday services or to join one of our courses. If you have any questions about who we are or what we do please get in touch with us, either by telephoning the church secretary on 01594 562137 by e mailing us at mmjteague@aol.com or for general enquiries at info@lydneybaptistchurch.org.uk
